Now Hiring – Wind Engineer
We are seeking a dynamic self-starter with leadership qualities to join our Wind Engineering group as a Wind Engineer for full-time employment at our West Ottawa office.
The role of Wind Engineer includes, but is not limited to:
• Manage a variety of wind and snow studies on civil engineering structures
• Perform detailed analysis of wind tunnel and computational data using in-house software
• Prepare technical reports
• Collaborate with model fabrication shop and wind tunnel operations to ensure efficient completion of projects
• Support Senior Engineering staff as required, including occasional field work
The ideal candidate will have the followings skills and qualifications:
• Five years experience in the field of Wind Engineering applied to civil structures
• Bachelor’s or Master’s of Civil or Mechanical Engineering and exposure to structures and/or fluid dynamics
• Understanding structural design as it relates to the wind and snow sections of building codes
• Experience in AutoCad 2D and 3D, Matlab and 3D modelling tools
• Independent, self-starter, with leadership qualities
• Passionate to grow the company and self-advancement
• Excellent attention to detail, writing and presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills
• Ability to undertake occasional field work across North America.
